    Try Chantix
It is costly but even with that I was spending over 140 a month for my cig and the Chantix only cost 119.00.

I have a lot of stress in my life also. Between work, family and school

You can do it you just have to want to stop! I have smoked for 35+ years and smoke free for 2 months now

Perhaps you should join a Quit Smoking Clinic.

GREAT NEWS! You are half way done, your willingness to quit is a positive sign.
    I smoked for 8 years & quit the moment I DECIDED!(June 07)

See, If you smoke, your mind has been programmed by repetition.

This programming can be undone easily, naturally and effortlessly through the power of hypnosis.

Wear a patch, and eventually cut it down into a smaller and smaller patch. There are medications that can help, but my husband had better luck quitting this way. Keep gum or hard candy handy to satisfy the oral fixation, and you can hold a pen in your hand until you get rid of missing holding the cigarette. There are tons of online resources to help you quit. Google smoking cessation. You will have a bunch of websites to check out.

Good luck to you. Hope this helps. :o )

I smoked for about 14 years and knew that I would quit someday just didn’t know when. Someone suggested it and I somehow quit cold turkey. I think it is about will power. The first few days are the hardest, but you want to have to do it. If you feel like you need to smoke due then you might want to get gum or some other little substitute (only for a while). But the main thing is, you have to want to and you have to make up your mind to do it. I have stressful days and sometimes want one, but I just choose not to. It was rough, but got better. Good luck!

You want to know how to stop something? You just stop, that’s how! Chemicals in Cigarettes are addictive and people have been successful and unsuccessful trying same methods. The people that I know that successfully stopped smoking have put an incredible importance on quitting that they just stop. Maybe other approaches might fit you better, such as seeing a hypnotist, acupuncture, the patch… but cognitive behavioral therapy- positively reinforcing better habits or putting your body and your mind above all might be best.
